Super cold if you visit Cuenca, Spain in winter.

Cuenca is a truly underappreciated and undervisited town.

Anything things to do in Cuenca?

The main attraction is Casas Colgadas (hanging houses)

Mirador del Cerro del Socorro

Great view and wonderful hiking route. It took around 60 to 80 mins from Parador de Cuenca to the Mirador de Cerro del Socorro. Please don’t for get to wear nice and cozy shoes for hiking, a stick, and enough drinking water.

Hotel Parador de cuenca

We three people stayed here for one night, yap, 2D1N in Cuenca by self-driving. The room and lobby were lovely and cozy. Wi-fi is great, breakfast was fabulous, the best buffet of hotel in Spain I had ever had (better than Sheraton Barcelona). All staff were kind and gentle, pretty friendly and helpful.

Everything in the Paradores were awesome! If you are not the fan of bard in the old town, just stay at Paradores for dinner. They serve local cuisine especially in Cuenca! For example, Morteruelo, rich and ancient dish from Cuenca, a province of Castilla La Mancha, east of Madrid.

Just enjoy every moment in Cuenca. Ah, I have to say it’s a good idea come here at super cold winter, not that crowded! We drove here from Madrid, and stopped for two days one night. Walk, walk and walk. It’s also my first time to stay in Paradores, wow, pretty cool. Even some people said the decoration of Paradores was old, however I called it ancient. The art of time, yes, you know. If you expect the accommodation is fantasy or shinny, like you are a super star, no no no. Staying in Paradores is a good chance to get close to the monuments, castle palaces for example in Spain. : )
