Boiled dumplings in Taipei

Soup dumplings are really popular in Taiwan. Today I’d like to introduce hand-made boiled dumplings in Taipei, which is one of our famous food stand near MRT Nanjing Sanmin Station. Only 10 mins by walk from Ex4, or 3 mins from 南京公寓 bus stop.

Hsiao provide few seats (with AC), most of customers take out their food. Here are some tips you might know first.

Opening hours from 5PM to 11PM
Cash only, no time limit to seat, no service fee
Pay after you have eaten
Shop some frozen dumplings, cook it by yourself/partner

Can’t miss

Hsiao’s home-made Taiwanese style green sauce and chili oil are damn good. The green sauce is used to the dumplings or noodles. I am not sure but I guess Hsiao is the first dumpling stand with green sauce. You might know, most of Taiwanese have dumpling with garlic, chili sauce, chili oil, vinegar and so no. Green sauce in dumpling stand is rare!

Have-to-eat

I got flavours of dumplings with cabbage & pork, kimchi (Korean pickle), and pumpkin cheese. Oh, highly recommend the original flavour, cabbage! The ratio of cabbage and minced pork are perfecto! And the kimchi one is too sour for me. I guess children would love the sweet corn and pumpkin cheese (little plain LOL)

Other dishes not to miss: bass soup and hot and sour soup. Hot and sour soup is a variety of soups from several Asian culinary traditions. mushrooms, ginger, parsley, tofu, bamboo and chile paste add flavour and heat.
